Lighting

In the general training area there are lamps with a visible light source hanging down from the ceiling a few meters from the ground. The light are directed straight down and has a neutral color. The back wall of the gym is made of glass, so during the day there is a lot of daylight.

In the group class room it's darker and there are no windows except for glass doors leading to the training area. There are two rows of colorful lights in the ceiling that go across the whole room. The color of the lights often changes multiple times during a class. There are more colorful lights right behind the stage in the shape of vertical lines next to each other. The color of these lights also often changes and the lights can flicker.

In the locker room there are many small round lights with a warm tone built into the ceiling. In the relaxing room the lighting is dim and there are no lamps in the ceiling. There is a fake fireplace. The sauna has a dim lighting as well, it has one or two small lamps on eye level if you sit at the highest bench.

Human Load
During weekdays before 16 there is usually a lot of space. From 16 on there will be more people and the amount peaks between 18 and 21 when a lot of people come for group classes. However, the gym is quite large so even in the busiest times you're unlikely to bump into people. During that busy time you sometimes have to wait a little for a training machine to get free, but never very long. During the less busy hours you rarely need to wait to use a machine. In a group class the amout of people varies depending on the time and popularity of the class. Generally the more in front you are the more people there are, and towards the back of the room there is more space. Even in the front you should still have enough space to move around and not bump into anyone. The locker room has usually a lot of space, but can get a little crowded right before and after a group class. There will always be free lockers but in those times you might have to stand close to other people. In the showers, relaxing room and sauna there are often few peopl, usually between one and five at once.
Sounds and Loudness

In the general training area you can hear sounds from the training machines and people dropping weights and talking. The space is open and has a high ceiling so the sounds echo a little. When there is a group class going on, you can very clearly hear the music from the group class room as well as the instructor speaking into a microphone.

During a class inside the group class room the volume of the music is often fairly high. As an example, if you wanted to speak to someone, you would have to talk loud right next to their ear. But it's not as loud as a club or a concert.

In the locker rooms, showers and sauna you can still hear the music and the instructor's microphone as well as occasional weights dropping, but it's more muffled. In the locker room there are people talking, but in the relaxing room and sauna talking is not allowed.

At the toilets there is a hand dryer next to the sink and it makes a loud sound when it's on. If you want to avoid using it, bring a towel to dry your hands.

Smells and Smoke
There is a distinct gym smell in the training area that could be a mix of sweat, deodorant and the training equipment. The space is air conditioned though so that helps with the smell. The locker room (at least the women's side) has a more neutral smell in general but you can sometimes smell people's hygiene products. No smoking allowed.
Navigation at Address

The gym is located in the highest floor inside the shopping mall Hallen am Borsigturm. There are multiple entrances to the mall. No matter which side you came from, walk to the middle of the corridor and there will be an escalator going up next to an ice cream shop. Go with the escalators to the highest floor and you will see the gym on your right side. There is also a lift on the opposite side of Rewe and Aldi. Take the lift to the highest floor and turn left. You will need to walk up stairs with just a few steps and you get to the entrance of the gym. If you come by car you can use the parking house of the mall for up to 3 hours.

Neither the way to the gym nor the gym itself are wheelchair accessible.

How to get service

You need a membership to enter the facilities. With a membership you can go to all the Superfit locations. You can find information about the membership options on the website.

To get in you need to hold your membership card or wristband over the blue blinking light at the gate until the light gets green, then you can go in. There is a service desk next to the gate in case you need help with something, but interacting with the staff is usually not necessary. Next to the service desk there is a water dispenser where you can put regular or flavored water into your water bottle.

Once you go in you first head to the locker rooms. You can see the men's locker room from the gate. To find the women's locker room you walk past the men's locker room entrance and walk alongside the wall on your right until you get to the entrance. There is no gender neutral locker room so far. There are a lot of lockers in the locker room and you can pick any free one. To close a locker push down the knob on the door with your membership card/wristband and hold for a moment until you hear a sound and see a green light and the knob stays down. To open it do the same.

Once you have changed into your sport clothes and shoes you can go the training area and choose freely what you want to do. Every machine has instructions for its use. You can also find more information about the machines on the website. With machines that have a seat it's good to have a towel to put over the seat. There are multiple dispenser for disinfectant wipes you can use to wipe training equipment after using it. A good area for stretching is on the long green carpet in front of the women's locker room. You can lay your towel directly on it or take a mat from the rack nearby to put under your towel.

To attend a group class you need to go to the queue at the door of the group class room. It's good to be about 10 minutes early. Registering in advance is not needed. You need to show your membership card/wristband to the instructor at the door so they can check you in. Once you're in the room, leave your water bottle and other belongings next to the wall and pick any spot on the floor you want. If you want to leave the class early, that's okay. You can find a timetable of the group classes on the website and on a screen next to the men's locker room at the gym.

If you walk past the service desk, there is a door to a room with a water massage bed. You can read the instructions for using it at the door and inside the room.

If you use the showers, bring your own washing products as there are none available at the showers. Close to the showers there is a relaxing room with deck chairs. If you use a chair, put a towel on it. To find the sauna you go through the relaxing room to the door that says sauna. You will come into a small room before the sauna door where you leave your slippers and anything you have with you except for the towel. You need the towel in the sauna to sit or lay on.

When you leave the gym, check out the same way you checked in: Hold your membership card/wristband over the blue blinking light until it goes green and then walk through.

Toilets
The toilets can be found inside the locker rooms, so they are also separated to men and women as the locker rooms themselves. There are four toilet stalls next to each other.
